Maria Magadalena Anderson

She was born July 18, 1938, to Ferdinand and Magadalena Albertshofer (Seidel) in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany.

She married Jim Anderson and spent most of their 44 years happily together living many places while Jim was in the Air Force for 20 years and ultimate settling down in Summerville SC. When Jim passed in 2010. Maria maintained the family home until early 2020 when she moved to Maine to be closer to her daughter, Christina (Tina) and her family in the Portland area.

Maria loved entertaining her family and friends at home. She enjoyed cooking and baking sweets for everyone. When she wasn’t entertaining, she was knitting and doing needlepoint. Maria loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Maria is survived by her three children: Richard Tkatch of Hammonton, NJ, Michael R. Anderson of Lancaster, SC, and Christina Anderson Kenney and husband Steven Kenney. Six grandchildren: Jacob Tkatch, Michael J. Anderson, Abby Anderson, Larson Kenney, and Evelyn Kenney. Brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Erna Albertshofer of Furstenfeldbruck, Germany. Nieces and Nephews: Manuela Albertshofer, Robert Albertshofer, and Alfred Albertshofer in Germany.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim Anderson.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, July 20th at Jones, Rich, and Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association
