Mary B. Profenno, 78PORTLAND - Mary B. Profenno, age 78, of Christy Road, died unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.She was born in Lewiston, the daughter of Ernest and Pauline Pulsifer Bauer. She attended schools in Cape Elizabeth, graduating from Cape Elizabeth High School class of 1954, and also was a graduate from LaSalle University in Boston, class of 1956.Mary was employed at Maine Bonding and Casualty for 10 years until she had her children, and decided to be a stay home Mom, devoting her time to raising her family. Mary was known by everyone who knew her as a giving person. She gave to others including her family and never expected anything in return. She got great joy in making others happy. Mary also supported her husband in developing Profenno's Restaurant in Westbrook which they have operated for 53 years.She loved sports and was a devoted member of CURVES where you would see her at 6 a.m. Mary and her husband enjoyed going to the movies and having dinner out at many different restaurants.She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Bauer Howard in 2014. Besides her husband of 58 years, Peter Profenno of Portland; she leaves three sons, Michael of Wakefield, Mass., Daniel Profenno of Portland, and his former wife Jessica Bell, and her son Justin Griffin, and Paul Profenno of Wells, and his former partner Lise Cote, and her son, Dustin Cote, and grandson Lucas Profenno. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins as well.Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at the funeral home.
