Maryellen Wade, 87 years old of Portland passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at home with her family by her side. Maryellen was born in Orleans, VT on March 1, 1927. To the late Walter Miner and Mary Pulkkinen Miner She attended schools there and would eventually move to Maine. Maryellen worked for several years at Fairchild Semiconductor and B & M Beans, but more than anything she was a loving mother and homemaker. Maryellen was a longtime and active member of the First Baptist Church of Portland, as well as the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed taking day trips with her friends on the Maine Line Bus Tours and spending time with her family. She was a great cook and loved to dance the “jitterbug” with her husband on the living room floor. Maryellen was a woman of strong character, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Predeceasing her was her husband Robert and a son David. Surviving is a daughter Robyn Farwell and her husband Robert of Scarborough, a son Robert “Bobby” Wade II of Portland, and a son James Urbano of Freehold, New Jersey. Along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildern. At Maryellen’s request service have been held privately by her family.
