

Maureen A. Baker, a native of Iowa, formerly of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on April 2, 2014, with her daughters at her side. After four years, she gave up her battle with lung cancer and now is at peace.
Maureen was born in Carroll, Iowa on October 20, 1954 the second of five children. She graduated from Gilmore City High School and attended Kirkwood Junior College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and grandmother; is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn, and brother Eric ; and is survived by daughters, Meredith (Scott) Rousseau and Megan Baker, grandchildren Jackson, Caroline, and Sydney, and sisters Michelle ( Jim) Ault, Paula ( Bill) Purtzer, Lisa (Pat) Mc Larty, and Janet Emery, along with several nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours scheduled. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday April 7, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Holy Martyrs Catholic Church in Falmouth, Maine. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House 11 Hunnewell Rd. Scarborough, Maine 04074. Interment will be at a later date in Iowa.
