Muriel Elaine Young "Me-My" Perkins

Born on Feb. 16, 1929, in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Maynard L. and Priscilla M. Durgin Young and Elsie Durgin Fournier, who was like a second mother to her all her life.

She was known as 'Me-My,' a nick name given to her by her father. She attended school in Warren, Union, Waterboro and attended Hollis High School.

Me-My moved to Boston in 1952 and lived there until 1969 working at the Copley Square Hotel for 15 years. She married Herb Perkins in June, 1982.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Wm Young, her sister, Edrie E. Young Conley; and her aunt, Elsie. Me-My is survived by her husband; two brothers, Bruce A. Young of Gorham and Skip A. Young of Waterboro, and a sister, Rita A. Anderson of Buxton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Sunday, April 17, 2011, from 1 - 2 p.m., at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland, at a later date.
