Nicholas J. Morris, Jr.

Scarborough-Nicholas J. Morris Jr. 59, of Portland, ME passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 with his family at his side after a brief bout with cancer. Nick was born in Portland on October 11, 1950 the son of Nicholas J. Morris Sr. and Josephine J. (Aceto) Morris.

Nick attended Deering High School and graduated from MCI. He also received an associate’s degree from the University of Maine at Augusta.

Nick had a passion for golf and travel and was a former member of the Falmouth Country Club. He adored spending time with his grandchildren.

An accomplished salesman, Nick received numerous awards and recognition from GMC for his work in the small truck industry.

Nick was predeceased by his parents, his brother Bruce C. Morris and his granddaughter Olivia. He is survived by his daughter Sarah Demmons and her husband Michael of Arundel, his son Nicholas J. Morris III and his wife Amanda of Kennebunk, his daughter Nicole Morris of South Portland, his brother Stephen M. Morris and his wife Linda of Portland and his 5 grandchildren, Madison, Mckenna, Dakotah, Kobe and Jacob and 5 nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his close and devoted friends Peter Rush and Marty Flaherty. He will be missed by all.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland from 4 -7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 1342 Congress St. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in So. Portland.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Nick’s name to the American Cancer Society New England Division 1 Main St. Topsham ME 04086.
