She worked as a seamstress for many years at Sanford Dress Company in Portland with her 3 sisters and then continued her love of sewing in her home. Pauline enjoyed her weekly Friday shopping trips and going out to lunch with her sisters. They also had several Foxwoods Casino trips and a visit to Atlantic City.
She loved life and being with her family; You could find her enjoying her favorite lobster meal, making a puzzle, filling out crosswords in the Sunday paper and more recently on her very own iPad while drinking her cup of tea. Pauline enjoyed playing card games, watching TV in her favorite rocking chair cheering on the Red Sox, gardening in her backyard, and relaxing in her swing on a warm sunny day enjoying the sunshine on her face. Always full of joy, happiness and laughter and never a day without a smile.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved playing with her dog Trixie over the past 15 years.
Pauline is predeceased by her husband of 53 years George F. Blanchard (who passed away December 2, 2001) and her 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Adrienne Gay and her husband Kenneth (who passed away in 2022), Deborah Asali and her husband Albert, Medora Martin and her husband Blane; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Our family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice of Southern Maine for their wonderful care and attention during this difficult time.
Donations in Pauline's memory may be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland P.O. Box 336 Westbrook, Maine 04098.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.jonesrichandbarnes.com for the Blanchard family.
