Phyllis I Marston

PORTLAND -- Phyllis I. Marston, 85, of 19 8th St., died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2010, at the Barron Center after a long illness.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of Clarence and Irene Lane Marston. She attended Portland schools graduating from Deering High School class of 1943.

Phyllis began her long career with the former AT&T working in Tiffin, Ohio for 12 years, and returned to Maine in 1957 where she worked until her retirement for the telephone company. After her retirement she wintered in Florida for 18 years, and returned to Maine in 2005 to be near her sister.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Edythe Shaw and Jeanette McDonough, two and brothers, George and William Marston. She leaves her sister Laura Marston of Portland, a step-sister, Beverly Schwartz of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held in the spring in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland.
