

Portland- Randall R. Chasse age 71 of Scarborough passed away peacefully on Saturday December 7, 2013 with his family by his side. Mr. Chasse was born in Portland, Maine on December 27, 1941 the son of Romeo and Jannet Geautte Chasse. He was a graduate of Portland High School. Mr. Chasse proudly served our country in the US Marines. Following his discharge from military service, he had many business endeavors in the greater Portland area. Randy was the owner and operator of The Miss Portland Diner for approximately 30 years. Upon Randy’s retirement, he donated the diner to the City of Portland assuring that it would stay in Portland for future generations to enjoy. Following selling the diner, He purchased and ran Middle St. Café with his wife Mary for six years. Randy also owned and operated a taxi service called City Cab. Randy always loved the camaraderie and life-long friendships with his customers from all over the world. He took great pride in his diner and everything that he touched. His father was a sausage maker and Randy, from a young age, always dreamed of having that diner. He had a tremendous work ethic and worked “8 days a week” for 30 years. In recent years, Randy enjoyed trips with his beloved wife Mary and spending time with his daughter Jetta, his son Justin, grandchildren, and his “grandkitties”.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Randy is survived by his wife Mary Barnes Chasse, a daughter Jetta Chasse, his children by marriage Justin Tracy and his wife Angela and Jennifer Haley and her husband Aaron, five grandchildren, and his three “grandkitties”. Also surviving is his two brothers Robert and Ronald as well as his sister Cheryl.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care he received at Maine Medical Center CICU Unit this past week.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday December 14, 2013 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street Portland, Maine. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00P.M. at the funeral home with a reception to immediately follow.
