"Chip" was born in Providence, RI to the late Robert M. and Jane Winslow Levine. Growing up in Standish, Chip graduated from Bonny Eagle and attended the University of Southern Maine.
Chip's work ethic and passion came together when he created Chip's Subaru and service center in Portland. His honesty, integrity and expertise brought lifelong customers to his family-owned business. Chip treated all his customers like they were a part of something bigger, almost as if they were members of his extended family.
You could often find Chip at the local car shows, with his 69' Camaro. He was known for being fast and loud, collecting anything with an engine. Chip enjoyed family time on his boat, around the pool, riding his ATV's and exploring on his snowmobile.
Family was most important to Chip; he was known for being a devoted father and his children were his pride and joy. You could always find Chip at his kids sporting events, cheering loudly and occasionally getting a little too close to the slide lines. His love for his children, grandchildren and fur-grandkids was undeniable. He was able to make everyone around him feel loved and appreciated. Chip would clear his schedule just to spend time with his children and close friends, always making it a point to bring everyone together. Sunday breakfast with his kids and grandkids was one of his favorites. Chip could read a room and be the right person for any moment. He could be the shoulder to lean, or the clown in the room, along with everything in between.
Not only was his family important, but Chip had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. His four-legged friends were as important to him, as the rest of his family. On many occasions, Chip would help people in the neighborhood locate their lost dogs and be so thankful when they were found safely. It goes without saying, his greatest loves in life were his children and sister Kathy, who was his confidant, best friend, moral compass, and life advocator.
Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Ashley & husband Scott Waters, Kristina "Krissy" & husband Collin Atkinson, Jenn & husband Joe Dyar, Samantha "Sami" & husband Mike Tambone; Son, Scott Stone & companion Kimmy Cox; Sister, Kathy & husband Rick Sanborn. Sister, Suzi & husband Brian Adde, Mother of his children Patti “Pat” Levine; Longtime companion Kathy Rogers & her son Scott Gartsu. Grandchildren Ivy, Zeke, Rylen, Jace, Harper, Nico, Bella, Jayla & Nick. Fur-grandchildren- Emma, Rico, & Bobo. Along with an abundance of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother David Levine, brother Michael Mullen & niece Amanda Lynn Mead.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am Friday, May 19th at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. Where a celebration of life will begin at 11:00am, followed by a burial at Brooklawn Memorial Park.
In honor of Chips love for classic cars and at the request of his children, if you own a classic car please have it in attendance, while we give Chip one last show to his final resting place.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an animal rescue facility of your choice in Chips memory.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.jonesrichandbarnes.com for the Levine family.
