

FALMOUTH: Susan E. Winslow, 75, died June 29, 2016, in Falmouth, Maine. She was born in Portland, the daughter of Margaret (Winslow) Tracey and Robert S. Winslow, and grew up in Portland where she graduated from Deering High School in 1959. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1963 with a B.A. degree.
Susan worked in Boston for a number of years after graduation for two advertising firms, returning to Maine in 1970, where she worked as a secretary in the Criminal Division of the Attorney General’s Office, Augusta. She moved to Portland in 1983 and worked for Chellis, Conwell & Gale Advertising, moving in 1985 to the United States Attorney’s Office where in subsequent years she served as a secretary to three United States Attorneys, Richard S. Cohen, Jay P. McCloskey and Paula Silsby.
A voracious reader, Susan’s interests included writing, word games, movies and travel – her favorite place being England. She also savored weekends spent in Boothbay and Islesboro. Susan will be remembered for her humor and laughter, her positive attitude, and for the great love she felt for her friends and for Maine.
Surviving are her sisters, Nancy Winslow of Kennebunk, Maine, and her husband, Robert Willis; and Elizabeth White of Seattle, Washington, and her husband, Michael White; and her niece and nephew, Jennifer White Chiang and Steven White.
A private graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth. A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date.
