Albert August Hanson was born March 27, 1918 in Cohagen, Montana to parents Nels M. and Anna S. Hanson. His father passed away when Albert was 1 year old, so he was raised by his mother and six brothers and sisters. Around that time, the family moved to Milecity, Montana. When he was 18, Albert moved to Portland, Oregon. He met and married Dorothy Beecroft, and they settled down in North Portland. During the war years, Albert served in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he worked in the Port of Portland Ship Repair Yard at Swan Island as maintenance foreman. He and Dorothy had two sons Steven and Phillip. He will be missed by family and friends.
