Albert Frank Tester, 97, passed away at his home in Happy Valley, Oregon on June 24, 2015. He was born in Kent, England on July 30, 1917 to parents Charles Gisby and Ada Tester. From a young age, Albert was a hard worker, taking pride in everything he did. He started work at age 14 and eventually worked for himself, starting his own business in tool and die manufacturing.
Albert married Edna (Martin) in 1943, during WWII. Their early days of courtship were marked with falling bombs, but their love endured, and they were married for 70 years, until Edna’s passing in 2013. Together they raised two daughters, Kathleen and Carol. Albert enjoyed traveling with Edna, taking in the fine arts around the world. He also liked to fly fish and deep sea troll. In his later years, Albert began oil painting, drawing inspiration from the classic masters. A fine English gentleman, Albert was kind to both people and animals, never hurting a fly or speaking an unkind word. Above all, he was endlessly devoted to his family.
Albert is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Host and Carol Evans; grandchildren Jennifer, Teresa, and Alexandra; and great-grandchildren Blake, Nixon, Eva, Hudson, and Eden. A funeral service will be held on Monday July 6, 2015 at 2:00pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
