Today, we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Alda Pearl Rose Bracy, a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she touched. Born in the vibrant island of Jamaica, where she lived with her mother, father and nine siblings, six brothers and three sisters.
At a young age, she made the courageous decision to leave her homeland and relocate to England, where she built a new life, forged strong bonds, and discovered the resilience that would define her spirit. Years later, she would venture across the Atlantic, settling in New York, a city that would captivate her heart with its energy, diversity, and endless possibilities.
But it was in Portland, Oregon, where she would ultimately find her haven, spending her golden years surrounded by loved ones, and basking in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Throughout her 94 years, Pearl, as she was known to many, lived a life of adventure, perseverance, and unwavering optimism. She was a true matriarch, a pillar of strength, wisdom, and love. Her generosity, warmth, and kindness inspired countless people, from family members and friends to neighbors and strangers alike.
As we say goodbye to this incredible woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that her legacy will live on through us. We will remember her infectious laughter, her captivating stories, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
Rest in peace, dear Pearl. Your life was a testament to the power of courage, resilience, and love. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will continue to inspire us to live our lives to the fullest.
Farewell, dear one. May your journey home be peaceful, and may your spirit continue to guide us along the way.
