A warrior in every sense, Andy’s resilience shone brightest over the past four and a half years as he overcame health obstacles with courage, determination, and grace. He pursued his dreams with relentless passion as a student at Bellevue College where he excelled in his studies and graduated with many honors. Driven by his love for sports and his dream of working with a major league team, Andy then transferred to the University of Washington where he embarked on a three-year master’s program in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership.
Andy’s spirit was magnetic. He filled every room with warmth, laughter, and his signature quirky humor. Andy had a deep love for learning, from memorizing the names of all U.S. presidents at age two to studying history and geopolitics as an adult. He was a voracious reader, deeply spiritual, skeptical of world power dynamics and political institutions, and a champion for those in need. He was drawn to the aesthetic, had a keen eye for artistic beauty, and moved through life with strength and elegance. Andy’s kindness knew no limits—he gave whatever he had, believing that small acts of generosity could change the world.
Andy loved deeply, and we deeply loved him in return. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn, aunt, Laura, and cousin, Sophia, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His dog, his loyal companion through thick and thin, will carry his love forward.
Andy, your kindness, your laughter, your beauty, and your Old Norsk Viking spirit and strength will remain with us always. You made our world better.
