Barbara Jean Hall Gilbert

Barbara Jean (Hall) Gilbert was born on August 18, 1939 in Eugene, Oregon to Harry and Helen (Steiner) Hall. She was raised in Eugene with two brothers, Ron and Phillip. Barbara attended South Eugene High School and graduated in 1957. Immediately following her graduatin, Barbara worked for an insurance agent.

On March 7, 1959, Barbara exchanged wedding vows with James Gilbert in Eugene. The couple had three children, Michael, Mark, and Sally. They were also blessed with 6 grandchildren, Michelle, Courtney, Christopher, Kristina, Samantha, and Chase.

Barbara worked as an attendant secretary for the North Clackamas School district until her retirement. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, crafts, reading, and was just an all-around curious person, always seeking answers and new adventures.

Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and grew up as a member of the Methodist church.

Barbara passed away on March 4, 2010 in Vancouver, Washington. A memorial service will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James; children, Michael, Mark, and Sally; brother, Phillip Johnston; six grandchildren; and many friends. She will forever be remembered for her laugh and her outspoken nature.

The family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
