

Barbara Parry Simon Robertson was born in Washington State, but soon moved to Oregon & thereafter considered herself a true Oregonian. She was a 1952 graduate of Portland's Jefferson High School where she was involved in many Art classes. She continued as an Art major at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, graduating in 1957. Her first post college career was as an Art teacher at David Douglas High School in SE Portland. During her 19 years there she developed their AP Art classes with several of her students receiving college credit for their portfolios. Her favorite classes to teach were Calligraphy & Advanced Calligraphy to David Douglas students & adults through Mt Hood Community College.
In 1977 she earned a MAT in teaching degree from Lewis & Clark College. Shortly thereafter she left teaching to pursue career in real estate. In 1982, she married the love of her life, her best friend and fellow real estate Broker, Al Robertson. They were very successful Real Estate Brokers as business partners for nearly 30 years developing a faithful group of clients, many who became their person friends. After Al's passing in 2011, Barbara continued serving her clients until her retirement.
During Barbara's real estate career she served as President of Washington County Association of Realtors and was named 1995 Realtor of the Year. She & Al received the Distinguished Service Award from Washington County Realtors in 1995 and in 1996 they both received Oregon Association of Realtors Distinguished Service Award. She served on many local, state & national Realtor committees. She served as State Certified Residential Specialist President and was awarded their CRS of the Year award.
Barbara retired to Russellville Park Retirement community where she was involved with many activities.
She is survived by sons, Michael of Gresham & Mark (Jo) of Seattle, 7 grandchildren, Rob, Brett, Tom, Alexandra, Ben, Nina & Katie and 4 great-grandchildren all of whom she dearly loved.
She will be remembered as a person who loved to organize - especially family dinners - sometimes frustrating family because of her attention to details. Throughout most of her life she enjoyed having a cat in her life. In her memory, give a shelter cat a forever home or donate cat food to a shelter.
