Barbara Nan Shipp

Barbara grew up in Northeast Portland attending St. Rose Grade School and Holy Child Academy, where she made many lifelong friends. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Barbara became a certified court reporter and spent the majority of her professional career in the Multnomah County Circuit Court.

Although Barbara was a Portlander through and through, she loved traveling throughout the world. She was known as Aunt Bea to the De Muniz children and (Great) Aunt Bea to the next generation of De Muniz and Mosar children.

To those close to Barbara, she will be remembered for her devotion to her Catholic faith, her unconditional love of her family and friends, her love and caring for her many pets, and the strength with which she faced the pain and indignity that her paralyzing condition visited on her during the last years of her life.

Survivors include her brother James Shipp, her sister Mary De Muniz and brother-in-law Paul De Muniz. Barbara will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
