In September of 1942 she married Verl C. Buchanan in Kansas City Missouri. In 1956 they moved from Independence, Missouri to Beaverton, Oregon where they laid down their roots. Betty attended St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church. With the exception of occasionally helping out at her son’s dental practice later in life, Betty’s career was spent in the home raising their three children, Richard, Patricia and Pamela. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela in 1968 and her husband, Verl, in 2007. She will be remembered by her son, Richard Buchanan of Grants Pass, Oregon; daughter, Patricia Roshak of Redmond, Oregon; grandsons, Michael Buchanan of Long Beach, California, Jeffrey Buchanan of Denton, Maryland and Bradley Roshak of Forest Grove, Oregon; granddaughter, Pamela Mastrantonio of Aloha, Oregon; one great- grandson and five great-granddaughters.
At her request no services will be held. Betty will be laid to rest at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements are in care of Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
