Bobby Frank Farmer, age 72, died at his home in Gresham on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012. He died of unknown natural causes.
Bobby was born July 29, 1940 in Harrison, Arkansas, to Almon William Farmer and Mildred Ernestine Cook. He graduated from high school in Harrison, Arkansas and attended Pepperdine University. Bobby served in the Army in the 1960s stationed in Fort Ord, California. He was married twice.
Most recently he lived in Portland, Oregon and had just moved to Gresham, Oregon. He had numerous jobs including owning a Phillips 66 Gas Station in Portland, racing formula Vs in California while owning an auto repair store with Bill Fischer, he was a courier for Oregon Photo for several years prior to his retirement. Bobby was a full-time caregiver to his mother and stepfather, George Reed, until their final days.
Bobby will be especially remembered for his sense of compassion, sense of humor, recounting good times and storytelling, passion for the garden, and his love of sports.
An Honors Ceremony will be held at Willamette National Cemetery. The date and time are yet to be determined. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony at 11800 SE Mt. Scott Boulevard Portland, OR 97086-6937. Phone: (503) 273-5250.
