

On Thursday, October 24, 2024 Byron Leonel Ramos, loving husband, father and brother passed away at age 65. He is survived by his wife Heidi L. Ramos (Wakeman) of 23 years, his son Mathew (Mackenzie) Ramos, his daughter Elaine (Rachel) Bello and step-son Lawson (Sofia) D’Ambrosio, his sister Norma (Dennis) Fung-Ramos, his brother Jorge (Delana) Ramos and his sister Susie (Mark) Rodriguez, his granddaughter Mila Ramos and numerous nieces and nephews. Byron was preceded in death by his parents Filadelfo and Maria Rosa (Veliz) Ramos, and his brothers Michael Westly and Milton Ramos.
He was born December 10th, 1958 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The family immigrated to the United States in 1969. He was proud of his heritage and proud at age 19 to become a United States citizen. He graduated from Armijo High School in Fairfield, California and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis, Davis, California in 1982. He worked as a professional engineer for 36 years. He relocated up to Oregon 1990 and stayed ever since. Settling down in Corvallis and Tualatin.
Byron served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico Veracruz Mission in 1984 - 1985. He faithfully served the people there, sharing his love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Byron loved his family, focused on the positive and lived in the moment. He was funny and quick to share a smile. His hobbies included tennis and volleyball and watching all sports. He enjoyed cooking and eating Guatemalan food, traveling, history, movies and reading.
He is a special spirit who will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
