

Carol (Clark) Stout passed away on August 26th, 2016. She was 94. She was born in Oregon City in 1921 to Albert Clark and Helen Schmuland. Friendly and gregarious, Carol made lifelong friends. In 1949 she married Charles Stout and they had two daughters. She loved playing Bridge and getting together with friends. Carol also loved the beach, and particularly loved vacations at Rockaway or Nedonna Beach with family.
She began her working life as a secretary and continued her career when her children became teenagers. She was the secretary for Hinson Memorial Baptist Church for many years, where her strengths of organization, responsibility and dependability were well used. Carol and her husband, Charlie opened their home regularly to young people in the college-career class.
Carol valued her relationship with God and with her church, and after her retirement and her husband’s death, continued to support the work of missionaries from Hinson Church. She also did volunteer work for Hospice, and volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital.
Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Parham; her younger daughter, Leslie Stout; and her husband, Charles J. Stout. She is survived by her daughter Lynda Shirar (Philip Henry); her nephew John Parham (Diane); great niece Leigh Geschwill (Fred) and their daughter Alex; niece Mk Shean (Brian); and her nephew James Parham (Mary Kay); great niece Annie and friends she has known for many years.
Reception and viewing will be held from 12pm-2pm on September 1, 2016, followed by services at 2pm at Finley Sunset Hill Mortuary and Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers you may want to make a donation to World Venture, an organization that funds missions or to the Salvation Army.
