He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and shortly after, married Joan Spady. She became his wife of 57 years. Charles and Joan went on to have two sons; Scott and Philip. Charles spent most of his working life as an Electrical Technician for Freightliner, later retiring from the company. He was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Along with his wife and two sons, Charles is also survived by his grandchildren: Terrin, Tyler and Jason, his brother Walter and his sister Freda.
Joan and her family have arranged to have a viewing from 10-4 on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Ross Hollywood Chapel followed by a funeral service the next day, August 18, 2011 at 11am in the funeral home's chapel. Light refreshments will be offered following the service.
