

She was raised in Selma, where she attended Shiloh High School until she relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1970. In Portland, she graduated from John Adams High School. After high school, she attended Portland Community College and Portland State University.
After a brief stint working for the US Forest Service, at age 19, Christina joined the Portland Development Commission (PDC). While at PDC she served as Executive Assistant to both the Executive Director and the Board of Commissioners. She worked for seven PDC Executive Directors and was always the consummate professional. She retired from PDC after 30 years of public service.
Away from work, Christina was mother to her daughters Adriana and Jessica. Christina was also a renowned gourmet cook for family and friends; and a gardener who loved colorful flowers and vegetables from her backyard. She enjoyed laughing, joking, dancing and fishing with her family and close friends.
Christina will be remembered as a beautiful person with a caring heart. She never met a stranger; she saw the good in everybody.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents; her brother David; and nephews Henry and Anthony. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Adriana and Jessica; sisters, Lillian and Hattie Mae in Oregon; sisters Vernessa, Jeanette and Jessie Mae in Selma; her brothers, J.C.,Jr.; Cecil; and Sam ; as well as her close friend, Baruti Artharee; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The Memorial Service will be at New Song Community Church on Saturday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. The repast will be held in the New Song Community Center immediately following the service.
