DeLores "Boots" Fritz

DeLores "Boots" Senff Fritz was born on March 3, 1933 in Dazey, North Dakota to parents Leon "Lee" Senff and Annetta Martinson Senff. Boots was born on the same farm that her grandmother and mother were born.

Boots has 4 children, Clay W. Zimmerman, Kevin D. Zimmerman, Doyle Lee Zimmerman and Darla "Dolly" Sheets.

Boots left North Dakota with her family when she was 6 years of age and only attended one year of school while living there. Her father moved the family to Oregon where they lived while she attended many different schools as her father was in construction. In 1946 the family moved to Brightwood, Oregon where they lived for many years. Boots attended Welches Grade School and graduated from there in 1947. She then went to Sandy Union High School and graduated from there in 1951. She was the secretary of her class in both the Junior and Senior Class plays. The President of the Girls Athletic Association, Treasurer of the JCC, was on the honor roll each year and fondly remembered her school years. She was the secretary of the Sandy Hi Alumni Association. She always stated that the best memories she had were from her school days when she lived in Brightwood.

Boots worked at many jobs and ended up working that last 34 years in the dental business from which she retired. She worked for Dahlin Dental Lab, Patterson Dental Supply Company and retired from the Multnomah Dental Society. Her late husband, N. Geary Fritz was an owner/partner in Dahlin, Fernandez, Fritz Dental Lab at Swan Island. Boots and Geary were married at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Portland on June 30, 1972 and lived their entire married lives in the Portland area.

Boots was known for her good sense of humor and helping others. She loved to go to garage sales but, not hold them. She enjoyed making greeting cards on her computer and got really good at it. She made the memory book for the class of 1951 when they held their 50th Reunion. Boots co-ordinated the plans for the class of 1951 to hold their annual picnic get together at Rooster Rock States Park.

Boots was preceded in death by her husband, N. Geary Fritz and her only sister, Donna L Senff-Mata of San Jacinto, California.

Boots is survived by her 4 children, Clay W. Zimmerman, Kevin D. Zimmerman, Doyle Lee Zimmerman and Darla "Dolly" Sheets. As well as 5 grandchildren, Crystal Zimmerman, Justin Sheets, Tyler Sheets, Brittney Zimmerman and Angel Sheets and numerous nieces.

Boots will be laid to rest with her late husband Geary at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
