Donald Charles Goecks

Donald was born Jan. 2, 1952, in Portland, to Roy and Barbara Goecks. He had two brothers, Jim and Michael Goecks. He attended Lake Oswego High School, class of 1970. He then became a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, received an M.B.A. from the University of California Berkeley, and spent the majority of his professional years in New York City.

After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and settled back in the Portland area, close to family. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and husband. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Ndiema Goecks; father, Roy Goecks; brother, Jim Goecks; son and daughter, Tyler and Tara Goecks; and granddaughter, Palyn Stump.

He was a believer in God and felt he lived a very full life, despite being called to heaven at the young age of 64. His survivors mourn his death; he will be sorrowfully missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute in remembrance.
