Donald was born to Homer and Ruby Haynes in Lafayette, Oregon. His family was homesteaders of Sherwood, Oregon. Widowed from his love of 45 years, Freida, he had the joy of a daughter, and two stepsons. They shared a lifetime love of traveling the globe, gardening, and rescuing pets. He was a paperboy, Foster Parent, manager of their rental properties and had a 35-year career at Nabisco. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He’s known as a humble, nonetheless master cribbage player; puzzle maker extraordinaire and a water aerobics enthusiast. He baked the best peanut butter cookies and zucchini bread, told a story at every turn, and had a mischievous grin & twinkle in his eyes that let you know you were loved.
Don is survived by children: Deborah Haynes, Ken Omey and Gary Omey; 4 grandchildren, & 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & extended family.
