

A memorial service will be held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gresham, Oregon, at 1:00 Wednesday, May 9, 2001, for Dorothy Rose Stevens, who passed away on May 5, 2001 from respiratory failure. She was 86.
Mrs. Stevens was born June 30, 1914 in New Britain, Conn. She and family members moved to Oregon in 1946. She attended Becker Business College in Worchester, Mass. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and took an active part in the Alter Guild and Senior Group. She was musically inclined, which was evident when she played the banjo in the High school band. She worked for several years at Stella's Dress shop, Mt. Scott Drug, and JCPenney. She moved to Fairlawn Village in 1997, then into the nursing care unit just recently.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry R. Gleason in 1951 at the age of 38, and Emery Stevens on January 15, 1985 at the age of 75.
She is survived by sons, Robert R. Gleason, of Newburg, Or., William D. Gleason, of Gresham, Or.; sisters, Clara Downing of Cheney, Wa., Gloria Tessman of Portland; sister-in-law, Lorraine Oliver; three step-children, Dick Stevens of Arizona, Steve Stevens of Gresham, Mitzi Kelly of Mariposa, Ca.; nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Disposition was by cremation and entombment at Lincoln Memorial Park.
