FORE! Heaven now has another golfer on their course. Frances Elizabeth Russell, born 5-23-1916 finally got another tee time when she passed away 1-30-2018 in Tualatin, Oregon. She watched a lot of golf, but always said ‘I just want to be out there again’. Her mind was willing, but the body was just too tired. Her husband James Elmo Russell has been on heaven’s course since 1988, so I’m sure she’ll say her favorite line ‘I don’t know WHAT is wrong with my game today’ – and she’ll carry her bag like she did until she was 80. And now that her hands are working again, she can be sewing and doing her beautiful embroidery work, or possibly climbing to the top of Mt. St. Helens again, like she did when she was 75. She is survived by her daughter Betty Garrett and her son Steve Russell, along with three grandchildren and six great-grandkids. Will Garrett, her fourth grandchild, predeceased her. All of them have been blessed by knowing this incredibly kind, giving, always having a smile person. When you live to 101, your friend list gets pretty short, so the family and a few friends will be getting together to remember her in a couple of weeks – at a golf course of course!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.skylinememorialgardens.com for the Russell family.
