He lived with Parkinson's disease for 28 years; he managed the disease well, but the last few years were increasingly difficult, and over the past two months he had been in steep decline. He lived in an assisted living facility and had amazing care.
He loved Patricia, the Boston Red Sox, wooden boats, and Volkswagens. He was handy and loved to tinker on cars. He had many collections. He loved walking barefoot on the beach and his dream job was to be a freelance clam digger.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Portland, Oregon on Wednesday, March 8. There will be a memorial gathering later in March, when he will be interred with Patricia at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
