Blew, George E. 93 July 12, 1917 May 13, 2011 George Blew, 93, passed away of natural causes in Portland. Growing up in the Portland area, he graduated from Benson High School and attended Oregon State College. George was a submarine electrician for the U.S. Navy during World War II and a home builder. He served as Chief Building Inspector for the City of Portland and retired in 1990. Active in community service, he was a school board member for Pleasant Valley Grade School, Gresham High School and Centennial High School. George was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Iva M. Blew. He is survived by his daughter, Karen; sons, Michael and Jim, and his wife Julie; and grandchildren, Rachel, Daniel and David Blew.
