George Weston Porter was born to Rachel Edgren Porter and George Porter on March 11, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. He attended Benson Polytechnic HS and then served in the Army Air Corps until 1945. His experience in the Air Corps had a profound effect on shaping his confidence for the rest of his life. He married Doris James in 1946. He was appliance manager for Edwards Furniture until 1959, at which time he joined the Portland Police Bureau. He retired in 1984 and eventually moved to Lincoln City, Oregon. Survivors include his wife Doris, son Tom, daughter Lynne Weston, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR on March 5th at 11 a.m.
