Gerald Lee Reitmeier

Gerald (Jerry or Gere) was born May 4, 1940 and was raised on the family farm near Medical Lake, Washington. His parents, Oscar and Edna (Green) Reitmeier preceded him in death.

Gere graduated from Medical Lake High School and went on to attend Columbia Basin Community College in Pasco, WA. Gere, always a hard worker, lived and worked in several western U.S. cities before settling permanently in Portland, OR. In 1984, he started and nurtured Reitmeier Mechanical, a general contracting service for heating, ventilating and air conditioning. He continued to grow the business until he sold and retired December, 2002. Gere made yearly treks to Hawaii and to Thailand, was a deep sea fisherman, hunter and a golfer.

Gere is survived by his life partner, Becky, step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Tommy, Hudson, Lila, Ryan and Ashley; brother, John (Jack) Reitmeier (Dixie), Spokane; sister, Sandra Reitmeier-Coolen (Michael), Corvallis; God-daughter, Erika Howerton; step-daughter, Kristen Jones; and his nephews and nieces.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 20 at 12:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland, OR. Graveside service and reception will follow.
