Guillermina (Minnie) Del Rio, a long-time resident of Portland, OR, passed away on Monday, Nov.7 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by her family. Born to Anastacio Aguilar and Elisa Villa-Aguilar in 1937 in Nava, Coahuila, Mexico, she became a U.S. citizen in 1950, and in 1955, married David Del Rio. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Some of her favorite past-times were watching over her grandchildren, entertaining friends, and enjoying the outdoors, particularly the Oregon seaside. She is survived by sons Ruben Del Rio and Arthur Del Rio, and daughters Loida Del Rio Gonzalez and Laura Del Rio-Smith; grandchildren Damaris Gonzalez, Enan Del Rio, Isaiah Del Rio, Ariann Smith, and Aiden Smith; great-grandchildren Kendra and Evan Cherry and Alexandra and Heuy Gonzalez; brothers Daniel, Israel, Samuel and Benjamin Aguilar; sisters Sara Calderon, Dora Mendez, Noemi Beaverson, and Grayce Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.
