Guy Walter Griffin

Guy was married to Donna Rae Griffin for 54 years. Guy worked for Connecticut Mutual until he began his own financial planning business, Western Planning and Pensions Inc. Guy was exceptional in his work earning the ELLIF award, Exemplary Life Insurance In Force, an award that was only bestowed upon a small number of agents nation wide. He also served for years on the Portland Estate Planning Council.

Guy was very proud to serve for 3 years on the American Heart Association Board. He was also active in the Catholic church serving as an oblate and reader. Guy was not only active with work and the church but also in his personal life. He enjoyed flying his plane, fly fishing, camping, backpacking, skiing and riding motorcycles. He was also an avid gun enthusiast and collector and member of the NRA.

Guy was a devoted and loving husband and father who always found time to help and serve others. He enjoyed life and its challenges and met them all head on.

Guy is survived by his beloved wife Donna, daughter Rachelle and husband Bill of Valdez Alaska; granddaughters Tanya Cathey and husband Jason and greatgrandaughters Adel and Ryanna Cathey; granddaughters Jessica Tanner of Valdez; Meghan Tanner of Anchorage Alaska and Ashley Tanner of Eugene, Oregon.

Guy was preceded in death by his beloved son Guy Curtis Griffin; his father Leonard C. Griffin and his mother Mildred Lamb.

A service will be held on July 20 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, Oregon with reception following.
