Gwen Stevenson, of Ridgefield, Washington passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at age 79. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Ben S. Morden and Eleanor White Morden, and her brother, Richard Morden. Shortly after her passing, her husband, Ben also left this world. They are survived five children and twelve grandchildren.
Gwen was born February 17, 1942 in San Francisco, CA. After graduating from Marin Catholic High School, her family relocated to Portland, OR, where she married Tony R Joy. They had three children, Kristi (& Geoff) Carvey, Steve (& Julie) Joy, and Greg (& ReNai) Joy. They were married for 5 years. Gwen then met and married Ben Stevenson, father of Bret Stevenson, and they had Todd (& Sonja) Stevenson. Ben and Gwen celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in April of this year.
During her early life Gwen enjoyed traveling with her parents and first husband. She loved being a mother and grandmother, enjoyed reading, gardening, attending the many sporting and school events of her children.
Gwen and Ben will be greatly missed by their family and friends. She and Ben will be entombed on October 23, 2021 during a private service at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary in Portland, Oregon.
