March 8, 1934 – December 30, 2025
Helen Louise Wilkins, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Leah Miller, and was raised in Sunnyvale, California.
Helen graduated from Fremont High School in 1951. On December 20, 1951, she married Lawerance Donald Wilkins, with whom she shared a devoted marriage and built a loving family. She began her working life in secretarial positions at Lockheed before choosing to become a full-time homemaker shortly after the birth of her youngest daughter, a role she embraced with pride and dedication.
Though not an active church attendee, Helen held her Christian faith close to her heart throughout her life. She expressed her values through generosity, faithfully supporting numerous charities, including the Diabetes Research Association, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and the Humane Society.
In her younger years, Helen enjoyed sewing, and throughout her life she found joy in gardening, reading, camping, and coloring. She was best known for her deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her lifelong affection for dogs, and her appreciation for simple pleasures—especially a glass of red wine and a scoop of Costco’s vanilla ice cream, which she liked to joke was the secret to a long life.
Helen wished to be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Among her fondest memories were the years she and Larry spent RV-ing with the Good Sam Club and visiting the Oregon Coast, particularly Depoe Bay. Her love for animals was unsurpassed, and her warmth and kindness touched many lives.
Helen was preceded in death by her son, Mark Wilkins, who passed away at the age of 36.
She will be dearly missed by her family and by her close community at Creekside Retirement Village.
Helen is survived by Valerie Lynn Baca and Kathleen Louise Miller.
In lieu of services, the family requests that donations be made in Helen’s memory to the Humane Society, the Diabetes Research Association, or Guide Dogs for the Blind. No services will be held.
