He was born in Haines, OR on December 18, 1929. Ray graduated from Baker High School and received his teaching degree from Eastern Oregon University. He was married to Rita Hobbs on January 11, 1997.
Ray had a career in teaching at Kellogg Middle School. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows and had a passion for life, his family, hunting, fishing, landscaping, rocks, masonry, history, antiques and dancing.
He will be deeply missed by his children Cheryl Wilson, Deann (Craig) Mathre, Chuck (Becky) Herman, Joe Park, Don Park, Greg Park and Gloria Hunt; grandchildren Jason (Janel)Wilson, Kimberly (Angie) Wilson, Vincent, Claire, Peter, Brian and Matthew; and great grandchildren Cole, Josh and Jack.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, 11:00 AM, at Ross Hollywood Chapel in Portland, OR.
