

Hong S. Brannen (nee Yun), age 79, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away Friday December 30, 2016. She was born in Seoul, South Korea to Nack Young Yun and No Hee Park Yun, on January 10, 1937. Hong was a graduate of Seoul National University and lived in Korea until 1962 when she married John M. Brannen and moved to the United States. She became a naturalized citizen on May 17, 1967. Hong most recently lived in Schererville, Indiana and she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an avid collector of antique furniture.
Hong is survived by her husband, John Brannen; her sons, Michael (Nancy) Brannen and John (Angela) Brannen II; her grandchildren: Daniel (Tiffany) Brannen, Miranda (Trevor) Weinkauf, Ethan Brannen, Aaron Brannen and Alex Brannen; her great-grandchildren, Sophi Brannen, Addison Brannen, Brexton Weinkauf, and Beau Weinkauf; and her sisters, Hui Sup Yun, Kyung Ae Yun and Un Sup Yun. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Lucia Serra and Cynthia Liu. Memorial visitation Saturday January 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97229.
