

Jacqueline Mae Jardine Miller, 80, of Rigby, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer
on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care
of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Jackie was born June 4, 1930, in San Jose, California to Samuel Vernon Jardine and Iva Maybelle
Allan Jardine. She grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Castlemont
High School in Oakland, California. She then worked as a bookkeeper for American Pipe in the
Bay Area.
Jackie married Herbert Daniel Miller on June 21, 1958, in Carson City, Nevada. Their marriage
was later solemnized in the Seattle LDS Temple. Together they raised their children in the
Portland area. Mom was a very devoted mother and it brought her great joy in making her house
a home. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, canning, cooking, playing the piano,
knitting, gardening, sewing for her girls and playing Mexican train every Friday.
She worked for a time for Sapp Gloves, Inc., Avon and Beehive Clothing in Portland.
Jackie and her husband spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed many activities
from square dancing together and rock hunting to excursions to Mexico. Jackie was a member of
the Yuma Red Hat Society where she shared many laughs and giggles with h er friends. She and
her husband were a very active couple who enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and many
foreign countries - China, Tasmania and a cruise to Jamaica to name a few.
Jackie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a member of the
Taylor Creek Camp of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Miller, Rigby, ID

16 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, 3 sisters-in-law, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Mt. Hood Stake of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (12300 SE 312th Drive, Boring OR 97009), with
Bishop James Anderson officiating. The family will host a viewing Friday evening at Caldwell
Colonial Chapel in Portland from 2-5:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9-9:45 a.m.
prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
