

Immediately following high school, Jim joined the United States Navy. He served for three years, and was honorably discharged on September 1, 1964.
Jim married Janis Smith, and the couple raised their four children, Wesley, K. Wayne, Carrie, and Catherine. They were also blessed with seven grandchildren, Matthew, Victoria, Samuel, Ethan, Heather, Katrina, and Tina.
For the majority of his life, Jim worked as the Service Manager of Stop & Go Automotive. He retired in 2000 after 30 years of employment. Other jobs he held included concrete construction and auto repair in the 60s. He also ran a small side business for Classic TBird parts, cars, and mail order supplies.
Jim loved many things in life, but he especially loved his Thunderbirds. He was an active member of the National Thunderbird Club, and was involved in numerous chapters.
Jim passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in his home in Portland. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 15, 2011 in Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be available that morning from 9:00am to 10:45am. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Janis Bones; sister, Barbara Bones; sons, Wesley D. Bones and K. Wayne Bones; daughters, Carrie Williams and Catherine Pearson; and his seven grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
To attend the graveside service, please enter through gate 9 and meet at the main funeral home to be lead in procession to the site.
