Born on May 18, 1940, James lived a full and active life surrounded by family and friends.
He shared many joyful years with his beloved wife, Sandy Bordenkircher. Together they
raised 3 children; sons Tim and Mike Bordenkircher, and daughter Jennifer McGavran. He
also welcomed son-in-law Donald McGavran into the family. James was a proud grandfather to Cole Bordenkircher, Andrew McGavran and Aiden McGavran.
James had a passion for restoring classic vehicles, especially his Model A Ford and son’s 1941 Chevy pickup, often working alongside his friend Pat. His hobbies reflected his love of the outdoors and quiet moments – fishing, gardening, golfing, reading and traveling brought him great joy. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of Oregon Ducks sports and treasured time spent with his family above all else.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Cedar Senior Living for their compassion and loving care during Jim’s final month.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date to honor Jim’s memory. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in Jim’s memory.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
