

Born to Charles and Nellie (Brosnan) Rhodes of Royaloak, MI on March 11, 1919, named Mildred Jean. The second of four children born to them.
Grew up in Oregon after her mother passed away. Her father moved the family there.She loved Oregon especially the coast where she lived for part of her life in Seaside. Walking the beach, looking for natures treasures was a wonderful time for her.
Jean was the mother of 6 children and being a mother of 3 boys Charles (Chuckie), Patrick and Richard Oster when she met and married Keith G. Borton Sr. In 1948. Keith was an instant father and they had 3 more children together Pamela, Keith Jr., Retha.
Jean was a hard worker , working for local canneries, railroad, 1st Interstate Bank, Pacific Power and Light where she retire after 20 years there.
Keith and Jean were married just shy of 50 yrs and they were very happy and in love.
She enjoyed being a busy mom, grandma and in later years great and great great grandma. Her family was important to her and siblings children mean't a lot to Jean as she loved them also.
There were many hobbies and activities that kept her active. She was a very good seamstress. Jean had made a baby blanket that took a first place ribbon in a Tillamook County Fair. The same excellence went into her knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking and candy making. The best divinity you've ever had came from that kitchen at least every Christmas. In later years she picked up gardening and had a beautiful flower garden. Walking was something she alway loved to do and did so all the way until the very end of her life.
Those preceding her in death (siblings) Margret Welch, Melvin Rhodes, Maxine Phillips, (children) were Charles (Chuckie), and Richard Oster, (grandson) Adrian Foster, and (husband) Keith G. Borton.
Those surviving (sons) Dr. Patrick Oster (Rita), Keith G. Borton Jr., (daughters) Pamela Foster (William), Retha Bartunek (Jeffery), (grandchildren) Robert Oster (Sherry), Richard Oster (Linda), Nancy Kelsey, Jerry Oster, Patti McAvoy (Dan), Frederick Foster (Karen), Terri Ann Hartley (Jason), Jesse Bartunek (Andrea), Kristy Bartunek. Great grandchildren there are 16, great great grandchildren 5 and nieces and nephews 8.
You were a wonderful example mom and we will continue to love and miss you!
