JoEllen Sever Taylor

JoEllen Sever Taylor, daughter of Robert and Ellen Sever, was born on December 26, 1957 in Portland Oregon. She had a beautiful childhood in Portland, growing up with her parents and 3 brothers, Robert Jr., Gary and Jeff.

In 1983 she began a new chapter, after meeting the love of her life Drake Taylor. They were blessed with five children and six grandchildren.

In addition to her family, JoEllen’s faith in God was most important in her life. She was a member of The Highland Christian Center where she served on the Women’s Ministry Team for many years. JoEllen spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her five children who were her world. No matter the highs and lows that life would sometimes bring, Jo did what she could to hold her family together. One such thing was being an amazing storyteller, ensuring that laughter and dancing was apart of all of her memories, leaving behind moments that will never be forgotten. Last but not least, another talent that Jo will truly be missed for her amazing cooking. If you knew, you knew!

JoEllen is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ellen Sever, brother Gary Sever, husband Drake Taylor and Son Jamell Taylor. She leaves behind a host of relatives to cherish her memories including her brothers Robert Sever Jr. and Jeff Sever of Portland, OR, her children Tamika Alicea (Sean) of Atlanta, GA, DeShawn Taylor (Marina) of

Portland, OR, Kara Taylor of Portland, OR, Brandy Taylor of Portland, OR, as well as her six grandchildren Miko, Mya, Zade, Zamiel, Shane and Sina Joelle. She also leaves behind brother&sister-in-laws Barry Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Shelley Taylor and Trina Taylor, her Aunt Constance Ross, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that became a second family to her. She will be truly missed!
