Joseph Anthony Mayer passed away peacefully on Dec 20, 2015. Joe was a long time resident of Portland attending Washington High School and the University of Oregon. He was a WW ll veteran serving his country in the South Pacific theater. Joe continued serving his country in the reserves for 26 years. In 1951 Joe married Helen Lash and raised 4 children. Joe was an outstanding athlete, he played baseball, was a Portland City Champion in table tennis and he was an accomplished golfer, which was his real passion. After the war he worked for the county assessor’s office, then transitioned into property management. In 1972 Joe started his own property management company, Professional Group Ltd, which prospered and thrives today. Joe retired in 2000 and spent 62 wonderful years married to his love, Helen. He is preceded in death by his daughter Christie (2004) wife Helen (2013), and is survived by his children Joe (Cheryl), Tom, Julie (Thomas), and 7 grandchildren.
