Kathleen Chase, nickname Bunny, was born in Irvington, New Jersey on May 4, 1931. She was an active person all her life. Her sister, Doris, paired with her to win the New Jersey State Championship in synchronized swimming and earned All State honors in field hockey. She married Bart Chase on June 13, 1953.
They had two daughters, Michel and Karen who brought, combined, five of the most wonderful children into the world. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of 4 wonderful great-grandchildren. She and her husband Bart were in education for many years, living and working in Maine, Wisconsin, and Oregon. In their adult life they were both active in skiing, and Bunny ran a mid-week ski program at Mt. Hood Meadows.
They spent summers and many weekends in Parkdale, Oregon. After her husband’s retirement from Benson High School, they lived in Parkdale for 22 years, moving to Tigard in recent years. They wanted to be closer to the family, having many wonderful times with their family. Bunny was a very special person, loved by everyone. Unfortunately, she contracted dementia and passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 12:30 pm.
She is greatly missed by everyone, and especially her loving family. She is out of pain and at peace with our Lord. She and her husband were happily married for almost 72 years, and Bunny passed away at the age of 93. Again, a very special lady.
