

Kay attended Milwaukie High School and later attended Oregon State University. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Europe, and received a letter of thanks from his commanding officer upon his discharge.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Kay spent his life working in the family’s multigenerational farming business, specializing in fresh market vegetable farming and greenhouse nursery operations. His passion for the land and his unwavering work ethic were central to his life, and his contributions to the farming community were invaluable.
Outside of work, Kay had a great love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed mushroom hunting on Mount Hood and the Oregon Coast. He also loved trips to Reno with his older brothers and family friends playing Keno, slot machines and time away from work. He also enjoyed bowling and cherished the time spent in friendly competition.
A man who was always willing to lend a helping hand, Kay was loved by all who knew him. His caring nature and deep loyalty to his family and friends will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kay never married but was devoted to his family, and he will be missed by his two nephews and seven nieces.
Kay will be remembered as a considerate, caring friend and relative, someone who always put others first. His kind heart and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone.
An inurnment with military honors will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11 a.m.
May his memory be a comfort to all who knew and loved him.
