Keith Daniel Schwartzkopf passed away March 1, 2026. The son of William and Gladys Schwartzkopf and the youngest of six children, he was a lifelong Oregonian. He even modeled for Buster Brown as a toddler. He attended Beaumont Grade School and Grant High School, eventually earning a Computer Science degree from Portland State University. This led him to a lengthy career in tech.
Computer coding wasn’t his only language; Keith spoke German and Russian. He loved board games, and his rare losses were yet another reminder of his intellect. His true passion was traveling throughout the Untied States in pursuit of the largest and fastest roller coasters. Keith is leaving an unfillable void at family game night and an empty spot at all of our tables.
Perhaps Keith’s biggest legacy was his authenticity. He was wonderfully unique and lived with an independence that was rare and inspiring. Keith had a quiet yet fierce determination to simply be himself. He inspired the bravery required for others to do the same.
Keith was preceded in death by his dear friend and confidant Richard. He is survived by his brother Michael Schwartzkopf, his brother-in-law Don Coons, four nieces, Patti Hansen, Renee Ackerman, Denise Morgan, and Michelle Karnath; seven great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-niece. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, humor, and the hope we all need to become better versions of ourselves.
A graveside service will be held at Rose City Cemetery on March 24, 2026 at 2:30pm
Thank you to Zeller Chapel of the Roses and Rose City Cemetery for the care of Keith!
