Kenneth Roy Herrick

Kenneth Roy Herrick, 78 of Vancouver, Washington died on December 29, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on November 10, 1939 in Chicago Illinois to Robert and Roma Herrick and was the second oldest of three children. He graduated from Colorado College and also earned a degree in Library Science at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He served on the library staff at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin for six years before becoming the library director at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where he worked for 24 years. After retirement he and his wife Johanna settled in Vancouver, Washington where he was actively involved on the board of the Friends of Chamber Music in Portland. He was preceded in death by his wife Johanna Herrick and his sister Delda White. He is survived by his son John Herrick and brother Lance Herrick, as well as two nieces, Kristin Marquardt and Sara Herrick, and a nephew, Robert Herrick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of Chamber music at www.focm.org. A Celebration of Life service will take place at The Old Church, 1422 S.W. 11th Avenue, in Portland at 10:30am on January 27, 2018.
