Kenneth Jack Johnson, 78, of Portland, Oregon, went home to heaven on January 10, 2026. Born January 27, 1947, in Bakersfield, California, to Kathryn and Jack Johnson, Kenneth proudly served as a United States Marine Corps rifleman from 1964 to 1967, including a tour in Vietnam. He later worked many years at Fleming Foods.
A man of few words but many looks, Kenneth will be remembered for his smile, his laugh, and his well-known “Johnson scowl,” along with the quiet way he made people feel cared for and at ease. He enjoyed golf and watching sports, especially cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Johnson; his brother, Richard (Jiani) Johnson; his daughters, Dana (Shannon) Queen, Devin Johnson, and Kathryn (Eugene) Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Tayler, Nathaniel, and Travis.
Kenneth will be laid to rest during a private burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 31, at 3:00 p.m. at Alex’s Bar in Fairview, Oregon. All are welcome.
A beloved husband and father, he will be missed dearly.
